Last weekend, I took a little trip to Las Vegas to see Kenny Chesney perform at The Sphere. If you have the chance to see any show at The Sphere – DO IT!!!!! It is amazing.
Anyway, I had some time to reflect between the time I landed and the show. And, since I could not turn my brain off, I was thinking about my deadline for FWF. I haven’t missed a Friday in 8 years and going to Las Vegas is no reason.
So, here go a few “snappy” ideas tied my weekend in Vegas.
First up – playing Roulette … you are more likely to win by gambling at Roulette than accepting the “default” long term care plan of hope. When you compare the odds of receiving care at home is 65% meaning that you and your family only wins 35% of the time; Roulette offers a path to win almost half of the time by playing the “red/black” strategy.
Next …a Kenny Song – While He Still Knows Who I Am. This is a song associated with Alzheimer’s and is about a son visiting his father. We have a massive healthcare challenge in this country for families dealing with dementia and other brain ailments. There are currently no cures. Consider this, today there are 6.9 million people with Alzheimer’s and the number is expected to double by 2060.
Finally – HOPE!!!! Like gambling anywhere, more people get by on hope than actually having a plan. However, a plan can help mitigate some of the challenges. And, a funded plan can do more good. At a minimum, tee up a future planning conversation with all of your clients.
