We are 1 day into the new year. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! One thing that we all do is make resolutions that we ultimately end up dismissing during the course of the year. I’m guilty – I do that and did that in 2025.
This year, I took it up to do some thinking and research about goal setting and resolutions. One place said that a resolution is a “firm decision to do or not do something” while a goal is simply “the object of one’s ambition or effort; a desired result.”
To me, they sound alike. One sounds more binary than the other, but they sound alike to me.
So, it doesn’t matter to me whether it’s a resolution or a goal as long as there is a commitment and effort directed toward achievement. So, what are you waiting for – review your business goals, objective, resolutions, or whatever you wish to call them and get at it.
We would all be lying if we said that our primary goal for our business is to be profitable (or some variation thereof). So, we will make that our given. The real question isn’t what else, but how will you make that happen?
Here are 3 things that I am going to do in the first 3 months of 2026.
- Meet in-person with the top 20 producing advisors that I support and learn how my team can add more value to their business,
- Develop and implement a monthly consumer workshop to help advisors provide a baseline of education about long-term care and LTC planning, and
- Collaborate with advisors to identify opportunities that can help solidify their book of business.
